Fronted by duo Peter Wile McKibben (harmonica, guitar, and vocals) and Gena Smith McKibben (guitar, pedal steel guitar, mandolin, and vocals), Wile & Smith and Friends music has been called “retro country, while still being relevant to today. As good as anything coming out of Nashville at this time, and I am surprised they are not really well known over here. Classy stuff.” #

With original material that “sounds [like] it is right out of the Dylan/Band songbook” their music gives listeners “chills” and “makes them get rowdy at the same time” *

Along with Friends Drew Kiniry (guitar and vocals), Keith Weisser (bass and vocals), and Kelly McClain (drums), the band creates “meaningful songs and lyrics worth hearing, as well as fabulous shit kicking stuff”#

Listen for Gena McKibben’s pedal steel guitar as it “beautifully wraps around the lead vocal and leaves lots of space; Buddy Emmons would be proud and she gives modern day Nashville ‘A Team’ steel legend Paul Franklin some competition.”#

“And Peter has a vocal delivery and timbre not unlike Neil Young and maybe even early Jagger. There’s nods to many, but the band never loses their own identity.”#
